Rating of electric vehicles by maximum range in 2025
Longest-Range Electric Vehicles in U.S. Model Year 2025: Top 20 Based on the EPA/DOE Fuel Economy Guide
Lucid Air leads this ranking with a maximum published EPA driving range of 512 miles, followed by Chevrolet Silverado EV at 492 miles and Lucid Gravity at 450 miles. The ranking covers battery-electric model families listed in the U.S. EPA and Department of Energy 2025 Fuel Economy Guide.
The metric is the guide's combined city/highway driving range in miles, based on a 55% city and 45% highway weighting. Higher range ranks higher. For models with several trims, wheel sizes or drivetrains, the highest official range listed for that model family is retained.
Coverage: 20 battery-electric model families included in this ranking from the 2025 guide. All range figures are official EPA/DOE published values. The model-family grouping and ranking were created for this article from those official values; EPA/DOE does not publish this Top 20 ranking.
Lucid Air G Touring XR AWD with 19-inch wheels has the highest published range in the dataset.

Overview: what this EV range ranking measures
EPA driving range is a standardized comparison estimate, not a guarantee of real-world distance. This ranking uses the combined city/highway range published in the 2025 Fuel Economy Guide and compares each model family at its longest-range listed configuration.
Plug-in hybrids and fuel-cell vehicles are excluded. The ranking does not represent every EV available globally; it is limited to battery-electric vehicles covered by the U.S. model-year 2025 EPA/DOE guide.

Chart: Top 20 MY2025 EV model families by maximum EPA range
These bars use the same raw range values as the main table and are normalized to the 512-mile Lucid Air.
Methodology
The primary source is the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Department of Energy Fuel Economy Guide for model year 2025. The metric is the guide's combined city/highway EV driving range in miles, using a 55% city and 45% highway weighting. Higher range ranks higher.
Unit and direction
Unit: miles of combined EPA driving range. Direction: descending. The published whole-mile values are ranked without recalculating or projecting range.
Model-family selection
When one model appears in several official configurations, the highest listed range is retained for that model family.
Ties
Equal raw values receive equal ranks. Competition ranking is used, so two vehicles ranked fifth are followed by rank seven.
Official values vs. page ranking
EPA/DOE publishes the individual range figures. The model-family grouping, maximum-value selection and ranking were applied for this article.
Inclusion is limited to battery-electric vehicles covered by the 2025 Fuel Economy Guide. Plug-in hybrids and fuel-cell vehicles are excluded. Missing ranges are not estimated, and conflicting values are not averaged.
The guide is a U.S. model-year publication, not a complete global EV census. EPA/DOE notes that information for some vehicles may not have been available when the guide was prepared and that some vehicles may fall outside fuel-economy reporting requirements.
Sedan, SUV and Pickup are broad navigation categories used on this page and are not presented as EPA regulatory vehicle-class definitions.
Actual driving range can differ from the EPA estimate because of temperature, speed, terrain, vehicle load, battery condition, wheel and tire configuration, climate-control use and driving behavior.

Which MY2025 electric vehicle has the longest EPA range in this dataset?
Among the battery-electric model families included in the EPA/DOE 2025 Fuel Economy Guide, Lucid Air ranks first at 512 miles using the Air G Touring XR AWD configuration with 19-inch wheels.
Are the range figures official EPA values?
Yes. The range figures are official EPA/DOE published values. The model-family grouping and Top 20 ordering on this page were created from those values and are not an EPA-issued ranking.
What exactly does the range metric represent?
The guide reports combined city/highway driving range in miles, using a 55% city and 45% highway weighting for the comparison metric used here.
Why can one EV model have several range values?
Different drivetrains, wheels, tires and configurations can produce different official range estimates. This ranking retains the highest published value for each model family.
Are plug-in hybrids included?
No. The ranking is limited to battery-electric vehicles. Plug-in hybrids and fuel-cell vehicles are excluded.
How are equal range values ranked?
Vehicles with identical raw range values share the same rank. Competition ranking is used, so tied positions cause the next rank number to be skipped.
Does the 2025 Fuel Economy Guide include every EV sold worldwide?
No. The source covers U.S. model-year 2025 vehicles within EPA/DOE publication and reporting scope. It is not a global census of electric vehicles.
